Local Ministry

Immanuel works to build and grow our relationship with a number of organizations in the Memphis area. There are opportunities for individuals and groups of people to serve with each of these organizations. As we serve we are seeking to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of others by doing this we become good news to those we serve.

  • The primary mission of the Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc. (NCC), is to build stronger families and neighborhoods by providing compassionate, Christ-centered ministries to those in need. NCC has 13 locations in the Memphis area.

  • Memphis Union Mission (MUM) ministers to the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of men, women and families who are homeless, addicted, and in crisis. Immanuel serves with MUM a few times each year by preparing and serving a meal and leading worship.

  • Jacob’s Ladder is a Community Development Corporation that works in the Beltline Community of Memphis. The Beltline is located near the Liberty Bowl Stadium the neighborhood has many blighted properties and struggles with poverty and drugs. Jacob’s Ladder works with people who live in the neighborhood, businesses, and churches in the Beltline who want to see their neighborhood become better. They work to remove blighted homes that are beyond repair and fix homes that can be repaired.

  • Memphis Athletic Ministries (MAM)’s mission is to help build godly youth in under-resourced neighborhoods by teaching them to love God, love others and love themselves. They operate eight centers across the Memphis area.

  • Restore Corps exists to eradicate human trafficking by empowering survivors, equipping communities, and seeking justice through systemic change. Restore Corps provides assistance to victims of trafficking regardless of their religious beliefs, ethnicity, or gender, and we are grateful for the support of all people of good will.

  • World Relief (WR) Memphis began resettling refugees and working with immigrants in 2012. Our prayer is that the local Church will embrace these sojourners and our mission is to equip the church to serve the vulnerable. We applaud the resilience and successes of the people we serve.

  • The mission of the Mid-South Food Bank is to change lives by eliminating hunger in the Mid-South. They work with non-profit organizations and individuals to make the elimination of hunger a reality for the people they serve.
