On Tuesday, April 4, four of our eighth grade Algebra I students at Immanuel Lutheran School –  Nia Brewer, Mahogany Cobb, Alexis Gohil, and Cambria Ingram – participated in the Tennessee Math Teachers’ Association (TMTA) competition at the University of Memphis.  This competition is held annually on the second Tuesday of April across the state of Tennessee for all levels of high school math – Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics.  State winners (the top three in each contest) are recognized at TMTA’s fall meeting.  While none of the girls placed in the top three, they competed effectively and represented ILS admirably.  We’re very proud of each of them!  The experience gave them a glimpse of the many opportunities they will have in high school and beyond.
