Immanuel Lutheran School celebrated Unity in Diversity during the week of February 25 which was designated as DREAM Week.  DREAM stands for Dedication, Responsibility, Education, Attitude, and Motivation.  School-wide announcements each day focused on one of these qualities.  As part of DREAM Week, we held an Embracing the Dream event that included students highlighting bios of people from diverse backgrounds who have made important contributions to society, a variety of songs, winning student essays, and a Dreaming of Peace silent museum.  Our students did an outstanding job!  Special thanks to Mr. Michael Tunstall for emceeing this event and playing the saxophone.  The message at our Unity in Diversity chapel, provided by Pastor Russell Belisle, focused on “Brothers Living Together in Unity” based on Genesis 33:1-5.  Our coin drive was about Sharing the Dream and raised $1,429.56, which will be used to provide children in Guatemala with food, hygiene items, school supplies, and medicine where Immanuel does mission work.  Your support is very much appreciated and will be a blessing to many children!  A huge thank you is extended to everyone who served on the Unity in Diversity Team to make this such a special week at ILS – Mrs. Stephanie Eley, Ms. Stephanie Glanzer, Mrs. Christy Griffin, Mrs. Toronaka Houston, Mrs. Tonya Johnson, Mrs. Katrina Lamar, Mrs. Toxis St. Clair, Mrs. Andria Tunstall, Mr. Michael Tunstall, Mrs. Leathia Ward, along with our ILS faculty and staff.
