Thirty-four 6th and 7th grade students along with ten adults from Immanuel Lutheran School attended Spring Jam at Neighborhood Christian Centers (NCC) in North Memphis on March 8th. NCC’s Spring Jam experience is a public annual three-day educational event that provides a unique, artistic, and cultural experience for youth and families in Memphis at no cost. Spring Jam promotes exposure to cultural diversity and education in schools. Each year, a different host country is celebrated and Germany served as the host country this year. Students had their pictures taken, received passports and boarding passes, learned about immunizations and health issues, exchanged dollars for euros, went through airport security, boarded a plane, watched an inflight movie, and then arrived in Germany to go shopping, learn about Frankfurt, Sylt, and Berlin, eat German food for lunch, and attend school in Germany.
