Members and friends of Immanuel Lutheran Church recently provided $2,315 to help provide food and medicine for Volcano Fuego survivors in Guatemala. Volcano Fuego, one of the most active volcanoes in Central America, erupted this past June, resulting in 200 deaths, 200 people injured, and 2,000 people missing. Immanuel does mission work in Guatemala in partnership with the Central American Lutheran Mission Society and the Lutheran Church of Guatemala.
Pray for the Lutheran Church of Guatemala as they lead relief efforts. Praise God for the love and care being provided to meet physical and emotional needs. Pray that seeds of the Gospel being planted by this relief work would grow strong in the hearts of new disciples and provide comfort to those experiencing loss.
