Sunday, August 27 will be Service Project Sunday for Immanuel.  There will be only one morning worship service starting at 9:30 AM and it will last about 30 minutes.  (Sunday School and Bible classes will not meet that morning.)  Starting at about 10:00 AM, we’ll go out into the community to serve and love our neighbors by engaging in a number of service projects, which will include community restoration projects in the Beltline neighborhood of Memphis; cleaning up areas around Shelby Farms Park in East Memphis; assembling hygiene kits for men being ministered to by the Memphis Union Mission; and conducting a “Thanks for your Service” Tour by visiting police precincts and fire stations in the Memphis, Bartlett, and Cordova areas.  There will be team leaders assigned to the specific projects.  Lunch will be served at Immanuel starting at 12 noon that day.  More information, as well as sign-up sheets to volunteer for specific projects, is on the table in the church lobby.
