Thanksgiving Food Boxes

Immanuel is excited about sharing boxes filled with food items for Thanksgiving with families in need in our community – and we need your help.  We’ll also be working with our partners in ministry, such as the Memphis Union Mission, Neighborhood Christian Centers, and HopeWorks, to ensure these families are reached with the message of Jesus in conjunction with this demonstration of love and compassion.  It would be great if groups, as well as individuals, could sponsor a complete or partial Thanksgiving food box by providing the items needed below.  Your donated items can be left in bags, boxes, etc. in the church lounge by no later than Thursday, November 16.  We will ensure the food items are packaged and that complete boxes are delivered to our partners for families in need early the week of November 19.  Items needed for each box include: 1 graham cracker pie crust, 1 can fruit pie filling, 1 box instant mashed potatoes, 1 box of stuffing mix, 1 large can of yams, 1 large can of green beans (or 2 reg. cans), 1 large can of corn (or 2 reg. cans), 1 bottle of juice, 1 bag of dried beans, 1 can of cranberry sauce, 1 can of chicken or turkey gravy, 1 box of macaroni and cheese, 1 bag of sugar, 1 package of cookies, 2 Jiffy Cornbread mixes, and a $25 gift card to Kroger (to purchase a turkey).  You can add additional non-perishable items if you would like.  Please contact Ed Mell at emell72@bellsouth.net or 849-2751 regarding what you or your group can provide.

“Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love…for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” Psalm 107:8-9
