LCMS National Youth Gathering

Held every 3 years since 1980, the LCMS Youth Gathering provides thousands of youth and adults the opportunity to come together as a community of God’s people to be encouraged in their walk with Jesus Christ and learn about the Christian faith and their Lutheran identity.

The Gathering is more than the five days of the event. The preparation process for the Gathering brings together young people and supportive adults to encourage each other in their baptismal identity. The Gathering provides young people a vision for the vastness of Christ’s Church and equips them for vocational service as they continue their walk with Jesus.

This event is organized by LCMS Youth Ministry in Saint Louis, MO. For additional ways to connect to LCMS Youth Ministry, please visit www.lcms.org/youth

Connection Group Fair

Sunday, October 6, you will have the opportunity to sign up for Connection Groups that interest you.

Groups will begin meeting the week of October 13 and end on December 7. When you sign up for a group, we ask that you make that group a priority for the events and activities associated with it for the eight-week period. Your regular attendance at worship will help you strengthen your relationship with your Lord and Savior, and your giving of time, talents, and treasures to the ministry of Immanuel is needed. We also ask that you invite others to join the group and build an authentic relationship with them by showing care, providing encouragement, and praying for them daily. Your participation in the community outreach event will be a way to build your team and help those in need.

Hope you are looking forward to the upcoming Connection Group Fair this Sunday!

Pastor Appreciation Month

to Nov 1

Pastor Appreciation Month

October Is Pastor Appreciation Month!

1 Thessalonians 5:12-13a, "We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work."

Pastors continue to do what they do, day in and day out. They work diligently, knowing that their "labor in the Lord is not in vain," (1 Corinthians 15:58), because they want all people to know Jesus, to be saved through faith in Him alone. Do they need our thanks to do their calling? NO. But we all know how satisfying it is to be acknowledged and thanked. Please remember Pastor Petering with a card of appreciation during October. If you wish to do more than a card that is acceptable as well. A basket to collect cards of appreciation will be available in the Narthex.

Crawl - Walk - Run
Jul

to Jul 20

Crawl - Walk - Run

Everyone can be part of the Disciple-making process! Come to this training and find your place!

Crawl: Crawling might be as simple as wearing a Luke2 shirt or some other Christian messaged attire. It could be handing out Olive Wood crosses. Or it might be serving through any number of ministries we have here at Grace.

Walk: Walking is sharing your faith with another person. It includes “always being prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:15). We will train you how to do this in a simple and natural way that anyone can do.

Run: Running is discipling the people that we know who have confessed faith in Christ. It means modeling what it looks like to be a disciple and training others to do the same. Again, we will train you and coach you, once you get started. If you are willing to be a walker or runner, then register for the training on July 19-20 by clicking HERE.

Pathfinders June 30-July 3

For rising 2nd-4th graders

Campers at this four-day, three-night session enjoy nature walks, swimming, games, singing, crafts, archery, campfires and a trip to the petting zoo, along with simple Bible lessons. The staff works hard to ensure the children feel safe — and have loads of fun!

Explorers June 23-28

For rising 4th-6th graders

In this six-day, five-night session Explorers venture into Petit Jean State Park — canoeing on Lake Bailey and hiking Cedar Falls Trail. They enjoy swimming, games, archery, crafts, petting zoo and campfires. Bible studies are part of each day’s activities.

Trailblazers June 9-14

For rising 5th-8th graders

Campers will have the opportunity to go on a trail ride at the riding stables, in addition to all the regular camp activities: hiking, swimming, canoeing, archery & axe throwing, large group games, outdoor ed. They will also enjoy nightly campfires with music and a message, as well as daily Bible studies that address their emerging questions about faith and life.

WILDERNESS July 14-18

For rising 6th-9th graders

Campers will learn all kinds of outdoor skills at this session for upper elementary and junior high. At this five-day, four-night session campers will explore rock shelters and find prehistoric cave art, climb rocks, learn fire building and shelter building, learn map and compass skills, cook over a fire, and stay one night in tents. They will also canoe, ride horses, swim and play large-group games, as well as compete in axe throwing. Every day includes Bible study and a campfire.

Voyagers July 7-12

For rising 7th-9th & 10th-12th graders

For older campers, this session will include overnight camping, a night swim, later campfires, and the Sunrise Regatta on Lake Bailey. It also includes the "Godly Man" and "Godly Woman" sessions, where adult leaders engage their campers in frank talk about real issues facing teen-agers in our culture. Hiking, night games, canoeing and horseback riding all also part of the session.

Adventure June 16-21

For rising 9th-12th graders and new graduates

High school students will leave the mountain for more intense adventures -- a river float trip, tent camping and rock climbing. The session includes swimming, large-group games, archery and axe-throwing tournaments. Campers will also search God's Word for answers to life's tough questions.

Family Camp (Weekend) July 19-21 & 26-28

Two sessions on weekends in late July make it more convenient for working parents to attend with their children.

The two sessions are open to all families, including those with children too young to attend regular sessions of camp. The session provides an opportunity for children to enjoy camp with parents and grandparents participating to provide reassurance and help prevent homesickness. The session offers a sampling of regular camp activities: singing, swimming, hiking, canoeing, large group games, crafts, Bible study and campfires — with s'mores, of course! The activities are geared toward younger children, but entire families, including older siblings, are welcome.

Family Camp (Weekday) July 22-25

In 2023 we have added a mid-week session especially for families of pastors and church workers, as well as others who cannot attend on weekends because of work responsibilities. Activities for this session are designed for all ages. We are continuing this session in 2024.

Families at any of the three Family Camp sessions can stay in the new retreat lodge or in cabins. Families can also save money by staying overnight in RVs or tents (Camp Trinity can provide the tents) in our campground .
